Brohm gets extension, $1.7M signing bonus at Purdue

Resisting overtures from his alma mater has landed Jeff Brohm an extension at Purdue.The new seven-year deal, which is worth nearly $37 million and adds a year to his existing contract, includes a $1.7 million signing bonus. It was approved at a board of trustees meeting on Friday.Brohm, raised in Louisville and a former quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals, turned down a chance to coach the school in November.”We think we have built a solid foundation for success over the past two seasons and look forward to continuing to strive for excellence on and off the field,” Brohm said of his new contract.
