2 ex-college basketball players die from coronavirus

Two former college basketball players from the early 1990s died Monday from the coronavirus.David Edwards, who played at Texas A&M, and Lee Green, from St. John’s, both succumbed to complications from the disease, according to reports.”Never in a million years would I have even imagined my backcourt teammate would go before his time. I just got the news that Dave Edwards passed away. For those that have been praying for him, he is now in a better place,” Charles Henderson wrote on Facebook.A Texas A&M spokesperson confirmed his death to The Dallas Morning News.Edwards, a 5-foot-9 guard, played three seasons with the Aggies (1991-94) after one season at Georgetown. He averaged 11.3 points in 116 career games. He still holds the Texas A&M single-season record for assists with 265, which he set in his senior season.
